I like to draw, paint, and print things from real life. I am interested in piecing together my experience in the world through the creative process. I am drawn to the natural world as a refuge from people and our man-made responsibilities. Plant shapes intrigue me, how they overlap and weave together, how they are not perfect, and how they interact with non-natural forms. I paint to keep a journal of the places I have been. I like to paint the land while riding in the car during long road trips. I enjoy letting the lines and shapes morph together to form a new landscapes as I am working–maybe to form a new world in which we can live? My work is part fantasy, part real, searching to find the work/play balance in life we all seek.
